PIVOT JUMPSTART: 2 CALL STRUCTURE

With a two call jumpstart, the primary goals are to establish a very strong vision, set a high-level strategy, and tackle the one or two biggest obstacles getting in the way of the person making forward progress.

SESSION ONE STRUCTURE

  • Greetings (5%)
    • Getting to know you, acknowledging you've read the prep questions, thanking them for getting in touch (5 min) 
  • Opening questions (5%)
    • What would be most helpful to get out of today's session?
    • Out of this first month of coaching together? 
  • PLANT (40%)
    • What is your ideal state for this topic area in six months? (Or one year)
    • Describe it to me, paint the picture
    • Ideal day, ideal income, environment
    • If these things were happening, how would you feel? What would be possible?
    • How would you currently rate your satisfaction in this area on a scale of 1 to 10?
  • SCAN (20%)
    • Given where you are now, and where you'd like to end up, what milestones would you need to reach? (This is where you start to set strategy, timeline)
  • PILOT (20%)
    • Of everything we've talked about so far, is there one area that would be most helpful to dig into? One area where you're feeling stuck, or that would unlock the most momentum? 
    • Do a mini Plant: what does success look like in this area?
    • Let's brainstorm options (go for quantity not quality) 
    • Narrow down
  • HOMEWORK (10%)
    • Given everything we've talked about today, what next steps would be most helpful to take for homework? 
    • (Let them go first, then chime in with yours - don't be afraid to stretch/challenge them! And give a few easy ones too, recommend any resources)
    • Great! Email if you have any questions between now and when we talk next, and feel free to add any updates at the bottom of our coaching notes doc (optional, if  you decide to do this) 
    • Send notes and acknowledgement (who you see them being) and encouragement

 

SESSION TWO STRUCTURE

    • How'd it go? Celebrate wins, note any items where they got stuck or didn't complete (ask if they want you to carry it over to this week)

    • Given the strategy we talked about last time, and your progress on the homework, what would be most helpful for us to tackle today? (They'll share topic area). 
    • Great, and what specifically would you like to walk away with by the end of this call in this area?
    • Describe what success looks like (paint the picture) 
  • SCAN (20%)
    • Given where you are now, and where you'd like to end up, what are your unknowns? (Start talking through them)
  • PILOT (20%)
    • Brainstorm options (go for quantity not quality) 
    • Share any of your thoughts, insights
    • Narrow down
  • HOMEWORK (10%)
    • Given everything we've talked about today, what next steps would be most helpful to take for homework?

    • Mention option for ongoing coaching: 
      • Monthly retainer to continue the momentum. Instead of thinking it as hourly coaching, I think of it as becoming a team — you and I work together in whatever capacity you need to set a super clear strategy for the way forward, and make it happen. 
      • The cost is $X for two 45-minute sessions per month (discounted rate since we already have a foundation set). I take notes and send them to you after each call. 
      • There is no minimum or maximum commitment - it's just good until cancelled, which motivates both of us to make the most out of every month :)
